[September 5, 2025 Update: This keeps getting more exciting by the minute. My designs have grown a lot, and I’m learning tons – check them out on my shop!]
Hey friends! Okay, I know how I roll – “Hey pals!”- and I’m already feeling like, ugh, but that’s just part of my charm, right? Hahaha.
So, I’m not here to chew gum – let’s talk Halloween print-on-demand – because this year’s trends are straight-up spooky-good. Ready? I am!
A Little Backstory
I’ve been eyeing “family matching costumes,” cult-favorite fandom gear (think Disney), and socially conscious slogans. Sales are up – like, a 15-20% bump over last year on family-themed and licensed Halloween shirts trends.
Plus – pop culture vibes are strong with Disney and feminist shirts leading the pack on Etsy.
On top of that, the shopping scene’s shifting. People want exact items – not generic stuff. Product-specific searches are popping off . Pet costumes are everywhere (we love our fur babies). Group and couple costumes are on the rise. And dark-gothic, moody aesthetics? Totally.
What I’m Seeing in Real-Time: Print-On-Demand Design Inspiration
Family Matching & Pop Culture
Matching shirts that feature Disney or other beloved characters are huge. One of the top sellers on Etsy is “Disney Halloween Custom Shirt”. And yes – “Witches” with feminist messaging is crushing it too.
Pet Costumes
Pet costumes are blowing up. Pet parents LOVE dressing up their pets and sharing pics. It’s super-shareable content .
Spooky Accessories & Trackable Searches
Inflatables, tiered-tray decor, flameless candles, Halloween garlands, black-and-white pumpkins – even tray decor kits are flying off shelves. These niche decor pieces are catching attention in search results.
There’s also a push toward detailed, product-specific listings. Think “animated window projectors,” “LED face masks w/ display,” “pet costumes with motion or sounds,” “car decor,” “smart sound-effect doorbells,” and “pumpkin carving projectors”.
Personalized & Sustainable Vibes
Across print-on-demand broadly, personalization is king. Around 81% of shoppers want customized products. And sustainable options? People are cool with paying a little more- about 9.7% extra – for eco-friendly goods.
What I’ve Learned (So You Can Skip the Homework)
- Start Early & Get Specific. Launch family-matching designs and pop-culture pieces early – late August or early September is your sweet spot. And long-tail keywords matter – “LED pumpkin carving projector,” not just “Halloween pumpkin.”
- Think Beyond T-Shirts. Explore pet costumes, glow accessories, animated decor, and gadgets that practically sell themselves – especially if they show off in Instagram Reels or TikTok.
- Be Original & Personal. Custom designs, sustainability, and unique niches sell better than generic stuff. Stray from the crowd.
- Pair Designs with Shareable Hooks. Pet costumes with sounds or movement? Golden. Matching costumes for families? Social media LOVES that.
- Balance Trendy with Timeless. Trends fade – Disney or feminist slogans light up sales, but mixing these with classic spooky or gothic designs helps when the buzz dies down.
What’s Next in My Shop This Fall
- A mini collection of family-themed matching tees – from “Spooky Squad” to “Mini Monster Crew.”
- Some gothic & dark-color tees with metallic spiders and vintage fonts – because moody is in.
My New Halloween Shirt Designs

I haven’t even started on my spooky music playlists or candle-lit mockups – but that’s for later. For now? I’m already sketching out mug designs with “Witches & Wine” and “Pumpkin Spice Survivors.” Maybe you already have some ideas brewing?
Happy designing and even happier selling. And hey – if you ever wanna bounce design ideas or talk mockups, I’m here. Let’s make this the most fun Halloween ever!
Etsy Seller “Cheat Sheet”
Okay, picture this: you’re sitting there, trying to figure out what’s actually working on Etsy – like, which listings are hot, which ones are just sitting there gathering dust, and what keywords people are actually typing in. Normally? You’d have to dig around for hours, clicking, scrolling, and second-guessing yourself. Total time suck.
But here’s the cool part- Ben has a tool that can do that. You can literally peek behind the curtain at sales data, keyword trends, and competitor listings without all the guesswork. Want to know if that “pumpkin spice retro tee” idea is worth it? Two clicks and boom – you’ve got the numbers.
The best part? It’s free to start. You don’t have to pay a dime just to try it out and see if it makes your Etsy life easier (spoiler: it will).
P.S. If you’ve ever wished Etsy had a “cheat sheet” built in… this is basically it. Free account link (We went with the yearly plan)
